About this product
The TaylorMade Metalwood 5 Wood is a right-handed men's fairway wood with a 22-degree loft, a steel shaft, and measures 41 inches. This club features a silver color and is part of the Metalwood series, an older TaylorMade line. It is a single club, designed for versatility from the fairway or rough.
Our take
This TaylorMade Metalwood 5 wood presents a trade-off between affordability and modern performance. The 22-degree loft is higher than typical 5-woods, which can help launch the ball higher and land softer, beneficial for approach shots into greens. However, the steel shaft is heavier, which may reduce swing speed for some players, and the older Metalwood design lacks the forgiveness and distance of newer models. The 41-inch length is shorter than standard, offering more control but less distance. This club is a budget-friendly option for golfers who want a reliable, higher-lofted fairway wood for specific situations, but those seeking maximum distance or forgiveness should consider newer technology. It's best for players who prefer a traditional feel and are willing to trade distance for accuracy.
